2019 Region 5 Rally

2019 Region 5 Rally will be September 4-8, 2019

NOT September 18-22, 2019

Region 5 Rally will be held at the Lee County Fairgrounds, near Amboy, Illinois

Hello all members of Region 5 and hope you are surviving these brutal winter months. We saw -25F on our thermometer here in Chicago a couple weeks ago. But enough of that and on to the good stuff.
The Region 5 Rally dates have changed and I have decided on a location.
The 2019 Region 5 Rally will start on Wednesday September 4th and complete on Sunday the 8th. The Rally will be held at the Lee County Fairgrounds located near Amboy Illinois. The facility will suit our needs nicely with ample rig parking with electric and water available. There is also a pump out at the fairgrounds. We will have exclusive use of a large building with a meeting / dining room and a commercial kitchen. There is also an outside deck for our use and a location to have a camp fire.
There are many attractions in the area and I am working on an agenda. Some of the things to see in the area include: the boyhood home of Ronald Reagan, historic John Deere sites in Grand Detour and Moline, an awesome Railroad museum in Amboy and another in Union, a very nice historic museum in Dixon and many other local attractions.
I am also looking into taking a day trip to Chicago and do the architectural boat tour and lunch. So please mark your calendar, I promise we will have a great time. I will provide a sign up voucher with pricing in the near future.

Region 5 Rally updates

The Region 5 rally is being held from Wednesday, September 25th ending on Sunday, September 30th in Springfield Illinois at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Since the number of members attending will be significantly lower than in prior years (15 to 20 Airstreams expected), I have modified how the rally is being conducted. This rally will be a more casual rally similar to a unit rally.
These changes have resulted in a rally fee of $165 for an Airstream with two members and $150 for an Airstream with one member..
If you are planning on attending this year’s Region 5 Rally, Please respond to me via e-mail at whitesellrobert@yahoo.com or via phone at (847) 602-2115.

Region 5 Rally 2018

To all members of Region 5 that are planning on attending the Region 5, 43rd annual Rally to be held in Springfield Illinois.  The Rally is scheduled to start on Wednesday, September 26th, and complete on Sunday, September 30th.  The Rally fee will include the cost for 4 nights of camping at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.  I have reserved a block of campsites for this rally so it will not be necessary for any member to contact the fairgrounds directly.  The total cost for the rally and additional rally information will be provided soon.  Please mark your calendars and we are looking forward to a great time together.
